Jaime Lerner Arquitetos Associados can be defined as an "urban laboratory", a place of resistance shared by people passionate about cities. Always facing the social, economic and cultural challenges present in our societies, this is a research and project production company that seeks to bring significant improvements to living environments, from regional to urban design, in projects of different types and scales.

 

Curitiba, recognized worldwide as the Mecca of Urban Planning and Solutions, has been the base and inspiring source of the professionals who make up the technical staff of JLAA, formed by urban architects, as well as consultants and collaborators from the most diverse areas of knowledge that constitute the multiple interfaces of the city. In all our work, rooted in reflection, resilience and problem-solving, and guided by a strong socio-environmental vision, our team delivers uplifting and impactful projects for the improvement of built environments and spaces.

 

More than simple transfers of models or solutions, our projects apply urban concepts and principles that consider the strategic role of cities in their countries and on the world stage; the development of local economic potential and the attraction of new businesses, always in the fight against socio-cultural asymmetries and aiming at the integration of people in inclusive solutions that can be enjoyed and bring well-being.

Our projects are the result of the formal combination of the triptych society-urbanism-architecture that consider the sustainable development of cities; that preserve and value local identities and their urban memories; that value urban and natural landscapes and public spaces; that prioritize public transport, pedestrians and meeting areas; that promote the coexistence of differences and different in projects that house the mixture of incomes, family composition, uses and urban functions, as a necessary condition for the exchanges intrinsic to city life, integrating people and ensuring complementarity.

 

Our practices are based on and follow the humane, innovative and sustainable vision of the enormous legacy of the architect Jaime Lerner (1937/2021).
