Rodrigo Gioppo

Arquiteto e Urbanista l Architect and Urbanist

Rodrigo Gioppo is an architect and urban planner graduated from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and has been a member of the Jaime Lerner Architects Associates team since 2025.

During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research in the fields of Architectural Sustainability and Urban Climate, focusing on the application of engineered timber in architectural education and design practice, as well as on the relationships between urban design, socio-environmental vulnerability, and climate adaptation.

He was also a member of Modular Jr., UFPR’s Architecture and Urban Planning junior enterprise, where he worked in the areas of People Management and Project Management. He participated in the development of architectural projects at different stages, from site surveys to executive design, while also supporting teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

His final graduation project investigates how architecture and urbanism can contribute to reducing social and environmental vulnerabilities from a Climate Justice perspective through a design-based study in the Vila Torres and Belém River area of Curitiba. The research adopts an interscalar approach, articulating strategies that range from planning to urban and landscape design, seeking ways to reconcile city and nature based on the realities of the Global South.

Passionate about the arts, he is also an actor, an experience that broadens his perspective on the relationships between people, space, and the city.
