The municipality of Serra, with about 400 thousand inhabitants, occupies a prominent position in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória, undergoing in recent decades significant processes of population, economic and real estate growth. With a diversified environmental heritage that is still well preserved - beaches, an extensive network of valley bottoms, forest remnants and expressive relief formations such as Mestre Álvaro - and important elements of the nation's colonial past - the Reis Magos ensemble - the major challenge of the work, which included urban structuring guidelines and strategic projects, was to find ways to integrate these rich elements in a sustainable way into the daily life of the population and the growth strategies of Serra.
