Plan Conceptual del Proyecto Isla Amaitlán
Isla de la Piedra, Mazatlán - México
2009 / 2010
The Amaitlán Island is located in the Pacific Coast of México, within a landscape marked by coconut groves, the sea, beaches, dunes, mangroves and lagoons that interact with a village where fishermen, small farmers and people connected to the tourism activity reside. All these quaint elements are in the vicinity of a large city –Mazatlán -, important national and international touristic destination, where one can find a historic downtown district, port, industries and logistics infrastructure.
The conceptual proposal brings a strategy to occupy this area, based in sustainability solutions and alternatives, so that the proposed design is in agreement with the characteristics of environmentally sensitive areas, the legislation, infrastructure guidelines and inner mobility.
