The architectural design project of approximately 3.000m² will be composed of a large auditorium with capacity for 450 seats, exhibition area, projections, facilities, libraries, classrooms, administration and support. The edification will be built at the confluence of a Boulevard with the Culture Square, in the City of Water – HidroEx, Frutal. The basic concept for Espaço Cousteau came from the representability of the meeting of 3 rivers in Frutal: São Francisco, Tocantins and Rio Grande, which are icons of the Brazilian imaginary and refer to the main goal of the building, which is to honor Commander Jean Jacques Cousteau – a reference in world environmental research.
