São Paulo, the capital of São Paulo state in the southeast of Brazil, is the largest city in South America, with a population of approximately 10.5 million, an area of 1,500 km2 and an urban density of 6,800 inhab/km2. It is the financial center of the country and it performs a major economic role in Brazilian economy. The office was invited to develop Preliminary Urban Intervention Proposals to revitalize the city of São Paulo downtown area, focusing the “Luz” Region and the “Cerealista” Zone.
