The Elaboration of the Strategic Plan for the Integrated Urban Development of the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro aims to build a vision for the future and establish strategic projects for the metropolis of Rio de Janeiro through a technical and participatory process, anchored in the social, environmental, economical, historical, cultural and infrastructural active aspects of the region.

Always with strong physical, territorial and institutional references, the work will address the themes of spatial structuring and centralities, economic expansion, valuation of natural and cultural heritage, mobility, housing and social facilities, sanitation and environmental resilience, and implementation

tools (institutional, community engagement, financial, legal, and informational).

This plan is tied to an agreeement signed between the Inter-American Development Bank and the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro (LoanNo. 8327-BR) for consulting services contracts within the Program for Strengthening Public Sector and Development Management of Integrated Territory – River Metropolis-Progestão II. It is a partnershio between Jaime Lerner Associated Architects and Quanta Consulting.

The study will be presented on the “Modelar a Metropole” website in the form of reports containing texts / tables / explanatory tables and all graphic material necessary for proper understanding of their contents.
As atividades propostas do Programa visam fortalecer a gestão metropolitana no Rio de Janeiro direcionando os múltiplos setores de forma abrangente. Isso será alcançado mediante os componentes, abrangendo as áreas de gestão das finanças públicas, governança metropolitana e territorial, habitação e regularização fundiária, meio ambiente e gestão de riscos de desastres, bem como desenvolvimento social.

O estudo é apresentado por meio dos produtos disponíveis no site Modelar a Metrópole e contém textos, tabelas e todos os materiais gráficos necessários para o entendimento.
